Solari designed the masterplan for Kāinga Ora to reinvent this rare 27,000 square metre, contiguous site adjacent to the Epuni train station.

As part of Kāinga Ora’s leadership in changing the face of New Zealand’s provision of social housing, Epuni had the advantage of scale around an identified transport growth hub. With available land-holding on both side of the train station, this masterplan has been transformative in terms of reinvigorating a suburban centre and community.

A total of 150 new homes create a new community centered around a generous landscaped park. The mix of one and two bedroom apartments and three, four and five bedroom homes creates a diverse family orientated neighbourhood. A dedicated community space connects with the park to encourage interaction between residents and the wider environment.
