Proudly, one of Solari Architects’ first projects, this alteration started off in the office of Novak+Middleton whilst James was still working there. As James had brought the project into the N+M office, he was lucky enough to take the project with him. We acknowledge the concept design input of N+M.

The brief was to convert a tired, early 1900s character home into a welcoming, modern, family home, whilst preserving and respecting the existing character of the house. We found a way to add value to what was a walk-up home with limited parking – a generous garage has been buried into the front yard, working with the natural topography the garage engages the street while the roof has become the front yard.

We enjoyed this renovation project as we worked closely with the client to refine this character home for their family. We kept existing timeless character features and balanced them with open modern living spaces and fresh, welcoming tones.

Enjoying beautiful north facing views over Wadestown, the happy client has described it as like being on holiday every time you come home.
